England won the match 13 - 9 against Argentina in Rugby 2011 World Cup at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin on 10 September 2011.

Martin Johnson's crossed the line with a quick 5 metre break 13 minutes from time for the try. Jonny Wilkinson kicked the conversion from under the posts to put England 10-9 ahead before wrapping up victory five minutes from time with a penalty. Wilkinson failed with five of his seven penalty attempts.

Very close match as it might have been a different story had Argentina not missed six penalty attempts at goal. England will be massively relieved after this narrow victory. England also fell badly foul of the referee Bryce Lawrence, who awarded the Pumas a string of penalties and sent Dan Cole to the sin-bin in the 34th minute.
