Beijing National Stadium
Beijing National Stadium, popularly known as 'Bird's Nest' proudly host the Opening/Closing Ceremony of 2008 Summer Olympics. National Stadium has the sitting capacity of around 1,00,000 viewers at the time of Olympics. This Stadium is designed by Beijing Urban Construction Group Co Ltd company.
Location of National Stadium is on the north side of Beichen Bridge. National Stadium is strengthened by concrete structure at inner side and steel structure from outside.
This steel structure gives the stadium a beautiful pet name 'Birds Nest'. Other than Opening/Closing ceremony, also hosting the main track and field events.
National Stadium Structure : The Structure of National Stadium is divided into two parts: the inner part is of concrete and outer part is covered with stee.
Total weight of uninstalled steel is around fourteen thousand tons.
Upto 150 jacks were placed at 78 different spots and uninstallation was completed with three levels which are inner circle, middle circle and outer circle.
