Getting ready to provide live updates on 2012 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttara Khand, Goa and Manipur. Political parties in the mentioned states are gearing up as already started Campaigning.
Lok Sabha Elections are held once every five years after the term of the standing Lok Sabha expires, unless the lower house was dissolved earlier by the President. At this year's General Election, voting will be held in 543 Lok Sabha seats, out of which 499 are newly delimited constituencies.
A total of 84 parliamentary constituencies are reserved for Scheduled Castes while 47 are reserved for Scheduled Tribes.

The Election Commission announced 2012 Assembly polls in five states Uttar Pradesh, Uttara Khand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur on Saturday, The model code of conduct, which prevents governments from making announcements that can influence voters, will remain in force till the end of the poll process.
