Deccan Chargers vs. Kolkata Knight Riders
Opening Match of Indian Premier League(IPL) 2010 season is won by Kolkata Knight Riders beating Deccan Chargers by 11 runs.
Earlier Deccan Chargers won the toss and invite Kolkata Knight Riders to Bat first. Kolkata Knight Riders started badly by loosing early wickets. 4 batsmen were out for just 31 runs in 5.1 overs. After that Owais Shah(58 runs of 46 balls) and Angelo Mathews(65 runs of 46 balls) studied the innings and made an unbeaten partnership of 100 runs of just 77 balls. Owais Shah scored 3 boundries and 3 sixes and Angelo Mathews scored 5 boundries and 4 sixes. Kolkata Knight Riders reached a score of 161 runs at the end of 20 overs.
Coming after innings break Deccan Chargers replied strongly with a opening stand of 61 runs in just 5.5 overs. VVS Laxman(22 runs of 14 balls) is the first wicket to fall. Gilchrist is the wicket, which KKR is looking for and they gets on the very first ball of the 12th over. Middle order cannot resist the pressure as wickets get falling at regular intervals and at the end of the match Deccan Chargers comes at the loosing side.

AD Mathews was declared Man of the Match for his firing knock of 65 of just 46 balls including 5 boundries and 4 sixes. In bowling Mathews took 1 wicket for 27 runs in his quota of 4 overs at an economy rate of 6.75.
