7th match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2012

Rajasthan Royals won the 7th match in IPL season 5 beating Kolkata Knight Riders by 22 runs at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

After losing their first IPL T20 match, Kolkata Knight Riders were already in pressure. They won the toss and elected to field first. Rahul Dravid and A Rahane opens the innings for Rajasthan Royals. Rahane was run out by Gautam Gambhir for a duck.

Dravid and Goswami contributed 42 runs for 2nd wicket partnership. Their partnership was broken as Dravid was run out by (Iqbal Abdulla/Bhatia) combination. He made 26 runs.

AL Menaria and Brad Hodge scored good shots and made 40 and 44 runs respectively. Hodge hits 2 sixes and 3 fours. Owais Shah remains unbeaten on 23 runs in 11 balls with the help of 2 fours and one six.

Rajasthan Royals made 164 runs in the allotted 20 overs and an average of 8.20 runs per over. Brett Lee took 2 wickets for 29 runs in his bowling quota of 4 overs. R Bhatia took 1 wicket for 27 runs.

Chasing a victory target of 165 runs, Knight Riders made a bad start. Their top 3 batsmen were back to pavilion with just 8 runs on the board. Captain Gautam Gambhir was out for a duck. Mccullam and Kallis made 2 and 5 runs respectively.

Manoj Tiwary holds one end and hits some great shots. He was bold by botha. He made brilliant 59 runs in 49 balls with 7 fours. Brett Lee contributed 25 runs with the bat. He hits 2 fours and 2 sixes. In the end Kolkata Knight Riders lose their second IPL Match by 22 runs against Rajasthan Royals.
